Parks Highway Map

The Parks Highway is the 362-mile, two-lane paved road that runs from Anchorage to Fairbanks directly through Denali National Park and Preserve. It offers some of the greatest scenery in the state, the ability to view wildlife at many places, and a crossing of the Alaska Range of mountains. Travelers will have many options for places to camp with their rental RV, but here are a few options.

South Rolly Campground – Nancy Lake

Just outside of Wasilla, campers can stop at Nancy Lake State Recreation Area. The site offers lakes, wetlands, and forests that are home to many birds and beavers. The 98 campsites have access to water and restrooms. The whole family can enjoy boating, fishing, or just walking through nature. Sites are $15 per day.

Talkeetna Camper Park – Talkeetna

Talkeetna is known as the gateway to Denali National Park. The community offers some of the best views of the mountain and a lot of fun. There are a few homey restaurants and even a local brewery to pass the time. The Talkeetna Camper Park has 35 spaces and access to electricity, hot showers, and even laundry. Spots range from $40 to $45 per day.
